Talking with your photographer before your photoshoot is very important. Being sure that you have a chance to express what your hopeful outcomes and to be sure you and your photographer have the same focus is all very important. I always like to know what my clients want to achieve and what their passions are so that we can highlight this is their photos are fun and I find it to be very important. When my clients book with me, I email them a questionnaire that gives me some information and then set up a time to chat on the phone, also. I have always encouraged my clients in the wellness industry to "stay their course" and "trust their path". I work with my clients in photography to do the same and I try to get to know what that is before we work together.
Sometimes to capture the full essence of a client, Diana has to do multiple sessions in different locations. She charges by the hour but in a case where we are expanding on the full experience for the client, Diana will work out an arrangement in 1-2 hour increments. Sporting events, senior pictures, home landscape over time, and special occasions where different locations have a deep meaning can all be reasons for this. Diana loves to work both indoors and outdoors with her clients. She has a beautiful, spacious studio that offers amazing room for lighting adjustments to capture both natural and dramatic lighting.
If the event or photoshoot is dependent upon an outdoor location, she will rearrange another time with you as the weather allows.
I get my inspiration for my photography work from all that my journey has taught me: how to see and appreciate the essence of all life. Even in doing photoshoots, I pull together all of my work in the wellness industry for over 30 years and ask my clients to share what their passions are so I can help reveal their true essence in their photos. My photography work began by capturing my son's joy and essence as a competitive, collegiate rower. There's an amazing story in his journey from a time when he could not even walk without severe pain to working through all to achieve what no one ever dreamed he would. We all have such stories and I work to capture this pure essence of life in all I photograph.
Deciding what to wear for your photoshoot can be exciting and stressful at the same time. Diana likes to work with her clients to decide what they'd like to reveal in their photos: simplicity and beauty, elegance, emotions more than the actual look, reality of how someone actually dresses, or a special event/need. So often, she finds her clients enjoying pictures that come out that really do not even show the entire outfits but more the personality of the person in the photo. So, what tends to matter most is that the person/people in the photos are comfortable and happy. Unless needed for a special event, choose outfits that make you happy, and allow you to feel like yourself and your life. In am hour session with Diana, you can use 2 different outfits. If it allows for what you need, bring a hat, scarf, glasses, or anything that allows the real you to shine through. Come ready to relax and play and tell Diana all about your hopes for your essence to shine through in your beautiful pictures.
Photographs can be done in so many ways and be used to highlight features, personality, hobbies, love, and so much more. Diana loves to help her clients capture what is most important to them and tries to keep her sessions relaxed so that the beauty and joy they hope to reveal shines through. If her clients have special props they'd like to bring like instruments, toys that have meaning, equipment for their hobby, or anything along this line she is always willing to work with it. Sometimes. less is more and keeping it simple can add more effect and meaning.
One of the most wonderful joys I find in capturing life through photography is noting the pure beauty in the moments and the awareness that all is a gift. Each phase of transition is so important as it reveals what has evolved to the present and it's a glimpse of what is yet to come.
